Vaccine - Who Why?

Nov 18, 2020

The flu vaccination for Winter 2020/21 is now available. And we have a useful information pack from the NHS explaining who it is for and why. Please feel free to circulate this with anyone you think this will help, in understanding vaccinations this Winter.

It includes useful information on:

  • if there is there anyone who shouldn’t have the vaccination

  • how do we protect against flu

  • what harm can flu do

  • how do you catch flu

  • am I at increased risk

  • will the flu vaccine protect me against Covid-19

  • why are household contacts of those on the NHS Shielded Patient List being offered flu vaccine this year

  • and many more useful questions that have come up this year…

It also covers who should consider having a flu vaccination:

  • aged 65 years or over

  • living in a residential or nursing home

  • the main carer of an older or disabled person

  • a household contact of someone on the NHS Shielded Patient List

  • a frontline health or social care worker

  • pregnant or children of a certain age

  • and other useful advice…
